The real asshole missions though, are Barrow Downs. Use your heroes strategically too, and have Witch king and Morgomir auto-cast their Morgul blade. Use rangers while trolls preoccupy the horses and then retreat if health gets too low. They are your best tank against the cavalry. Then just barrage them with catapults before they can even get too deep into your camp. When the big army comes, have your catapults in the back and have the enemy attack your defensive buildings in the front. Use them strategically to destroy units and buildings from afar. Catapults and Dark rangers are your friends. The base game unmodded ALWAYS lets you build a fortress in that level.
